If you are like many people and tend to be stressed during the holidays, then having some simple tools to use to stay calm can be a priceless investment. These simple steps are what you should have in your calm “tool kit” anytime you feel stressed, whether it is during the holidays or not.

Sleep

When you are well-rested, there is less stress on the physical & emotional bodies. If you are having trouble sleeping try a guided meditation for sleep

Be Mindful of Breath

When stressed, take a moment & be mindful of your breathing. You are not trying to change it, just be mindful of the location, sound, warmth, duration, etc. Guided Meditation for Stress

Exercise

Go for a walk outside. Be mindful & focus on your feet with each step. Walking is an excellent way to relieve stress. Combine walking with the power of meditation and you magnify the benefits. Walk and train yourself to be in the present moment. Train yourself to observe what you are doing now and release thoughts and/or worries of the past or future.

Focus

Focus on what you want to experience & not on what you don’t want. There is a tendency to focus on what you don’t want, instead of what you do want. Remember what you place your focus on is what you get. If you don’t want to experience something then focus on what you do want to experience. If you want to focus on harmonious relationships, then saying “I don’t want to fight with my family”, is not the same vibrationally. In the second example, you are placing your focus on fighting, and therefore, stirring up that vibrational pot. As a result, you are bringing more of that energy into your existence/reality.

Ground

Stress is caused by the thoughts in your mind. Go outside and ground the excessive mental chatter by placing your barefeet on the ground. This will help to bring the abundance of energy in your head to your feet. When this happens, you literally “get out of your mind” and relieve stress. If the ground is too cold, try a grounding meditation.

Note

Make sure to focus on the sensations, you feel on your feet as you ground.

Be Grateful

Gratitude is an excellent way to Raise your Vibration & put you in a better mood. Close your eyes & mentally think of at least 10 things for which you are grateful. You will feel much better.
