Meditation and Reiki for Stress and Anxiety

What is Reiki?

ReikiReiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction, anxiety relief, relaxation and it also promotes healing. It is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" (qi) flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick, feel stress, or feel anxious and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

A Reiki practitioner acts as a "conduit" in directing this life force energy through their hands to the receiver. The practitioner will either lie their hands on you or will hover over you to direct the energy from a distance. A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Many people are amazed that they can feel this "energy field" that is being radiating from the practitioner's hands. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit. It creates many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing. Many have reported miraculous results.

Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use. It has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and malady and always creates a beneficial effect. It helps relieve stress, anxiety, helps to speed healing, helps relieve emotional distress and helps to balance the body. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.

Meditation and Reiki

Meditation and Reiki are a great complement to each other. It is desirable for your reiki practitioner to meditate on a regular basis in order to be able to quiet the mind to increase their "life force energy" and to easily be able to allow this increased "life force energy" to flow through them. The more "life force energy" that can flow through the practitioner, the greater the possibility for healing for the client. The reason meditation is effective in increasing "life force energy" is due to the fact that you train your mind to quiet and release negative thoughts. Your thoughts affect your health so it is beneficial to release those negative thoughts that do not serve you. Negative thoughts cause a release of stress hormones which results in a stressed and anxious state. In addition to a whole borage of physical effects. When you meditate on a regular basis, you train your mind to quiet and release the negative thoughts.

It is also more beneficial for the client to be in a relaxed and quiet mind state as well. In this way both the client and the practitioner are in a space for healing. When the patient can quiet their mind, they are more open to healing. Again, this is a result of the mind-body connection. As a result, it is to your benefit in my opinion, to also meditate at a reiki session so that you combine the benefits of meditation and reiki.
