The cumulative affects that you feel from a daily meditation practice is greater than that which you feel from a periodic practice. Even a daily meditation practice of only 5 minutes is a good start. Think consistency over longevity.
A daily meditation practice trains your mind and body in many aspects. It trains your mind and body to relax, to focus, to let go, to be present, to ground, etc. These are just some of the benefits of meditation. It also helps you to reprogram your subconscious mind, which is an important aspect of the self-healing process and mastering the law of attraction.
An accomplished musician or a star athlete, trains everyday to condition themselves to be the best. So too must you in order to "master" the art of meditation. Meditation is an art, not a science and requires continued practice. You cannot expect to be able to get the full benefits of meditation without a consistent practice. Would you expect to master a computer program or master your health by doing something once? It is not realistic, nor possible.
