Should I use Music during Meditation?

music_note_resize Should I use Music during Meditation? - Spiritual SanctuaryUsing music during meditation for stress and anxiety is a personal choice. I personally find that using music during meditation can be very soothing and calming. It can even help to focus me at times. There are times, however, that I choose to meditate without music. Sometimes, I feel that the music is a distraction. It really depends on my level of consciousness at the time I go to meditate.

The type of music that I use is also different depending on my current vibrational level, i.e. mood. If I feel I need to be uplifted, then I listen to music that is more upbeat in tempo then if I feel I need to be more relaxed. There are also other times that I feel I need the sound of nature to help soothe my nerves.

The key to deciding is learning to listen to your own inner guidance. Learning to feel what is right for you. Also, learning that what feels right for you at this moment, may not feel right for you in another. In this light, it is okay to have many types of meditation music to choose from to match your mood. I actually encourage it.
